Having everyone on a realm be your faction means ALOT more players. Whereas the 50/50 split could make a big realm feel like a low pop one. I'm a fairly recent returnee, since other MMOs just don't hold my attention for very long. I'd like to get my fresh start on an RP realm, and while RP is kind of my focus, I'd also like to have a community around to actually play the game, in addition to RP. Warmane is not highly regarded here at all. All but one of the realms is completely P2W, and the PvP is cross-realm so you'll be at a huge disadvantage anyways. Classic WotLK should be out within the next year or so, would be better to wait for that instead. According to wowprogress, Silvermoon is indeed the most active server for Alliance EU. Ravencrest is second. Grobbulus is a very good server. Nice balance with good RP, PVP, and PVE guilds. Advantages are that you get more guilds, more people in cities and trade chat, and a healthy economy (though that is not faction-specific). Well you have 2 or 3 fake PvP servers (Benediction, Faerlina, Whitemane) which are all nearly 100% dominated by one faction and you’ll never see PvP in the open world. Warmane is not highly regarded here at all. All but one of the realms is completely P2W, and the PvP is cross-realm so you'll be at a huge disadvantage anyways.
